As a Sand Soccer Tournament Director, you find associating yourself with other Tournament Directors from other parts for the USA and other countries. This helps to see how they run their tournament and what you can do to better your event.
One thing we are starting to establish is an American Beach Soccer Association. With this association, will develop an organization that will be able to up the playing level of this sport and create a National Championship?
One step to making this happen is by having a team from Hawaii Sand Soccer Championship (Team Hawaii 5.0) to go and play in another Beach Soccer Tournament.
So I tried just that. I put a team together of players that I thought would be able to compete in the Pro/Am Division at the Southern California Beach Soccer Championships.
We were a team that was seeded in last place before the tournament started. But after 2 days of intense playing, we were able to move up to 6th place. Now this tournament has over 250 teams playing in a 2 day period.
